About the role:
Justteachers is seeking a caring and motivated Primary PMLD Teacher for a specialist SEN school in Birmingham. This full-time position is available from September 2026 and offers the opportunity to work within a highly supportive environment dedicated to helping pupils with complex learning needs thrive.
The successful candidate will deliver a broad and engaging curriculum tailored to the individual needs of pupils with PMLD, helping them achieve meaningful educational and personal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver personalised learning programmes for pupils with PMLD.
- Create engaging sensory-based learning opportunities.
- Support communication, social interaction, and life skills development.
- Track progress against EHCP targets and school assessment frameworks.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and families.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusion.
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching within SEND, PMLD, SLD, or complex needs environments.
- Understanding of sensory curriculum approaches and assistive communication methods.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A proactive, flexible, and compassionate approach.
- Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undertake one.
