About the role:
justteachers are currently seeking a committed and compassionate Pastoral Support Officer to work within a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Bradford. This is a long-term opportunity starting in September 2026, supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
The school is looking for an individual who is passionate about student wellbeing, behaviour support, and ensuring every young person can succeed both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide pastoral support to students, promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing
- Act as a point of contact for students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges
- Work closely with heads of year, teachers, and safeguarding leads
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, and behaviour, intervening where necessary
- Support students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups
- Assist with behaviour management strategies across the school
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and external agencies
- Contribute to safeguarding and welfare of all students
Pre-requisites:
- Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable)
- Strong behaviour management and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection
- Resilient, proactive, and able to work under pressure
- A DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
