About the role:
Justteachers is seeking a passionate and skilled Design & Technology (Food Specialist) Teacher to join a welcoming and well-resourced secondary school in Bradford. This is a full-time position starting in September 2026, initially running through until the Christmas break, with a strong possibility of extension.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4, inspiring students to develop their culinary skills, nutritional understanding, and creativity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Prepare practical lessons, ensuring safe and effective use of kitchen equipment
- Teach key topics such as nutrition, food preparation, hygiene, and health and safety
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Contribute to departmental planning and potential extracurricular activities
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Specialism in Design & Technology - Food (or closely related subject)
- Experience teaching Food Technology at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)
- Strong classroom management skills
- Up-to-date knowledge of the UK curriculum and food safety standards
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
- Two school based references
