Internship Program
The internship runs from 7th July to 28th August 2026. Working model: 3 days a week in the office (Monday, Tuesday & Thursday), with the option to work from home on other days.
Responsibilities
- Develop and Maintain Internal Tools – contribute to backend systems that support internal teams (operations, customer support, finance)
- Build APIs and Services – design, build, and maintain internal REST or gRPC APIs that integrate with databases and third‑party services
- Write Clean, Maintainable Code – follow best practices for code quality, documentation, and testing
- Monitor and Debug Systems – help set up logging and monitoring for internal tools and participate in debugging issues as they arise
- Automate Repetitive Tasks – write scripts or services to automate internal tasks, reducing manual overhead for teams
- Support CI/CD Processes – contribute to deployment workflows and continuous integration setups, ensuring smooth releases of internal tools
- Learn and Apply Backend Architecture Principles – gain exposure to backend architectural concepts such as microservices, event‑driven design, and database normalization
- Use AI Tools Responsibly – leverage AI coding assistants to accelerate development, with an understanding of when to trust and when to verify output
Qualifications
- A basic understanding of a backend programming language. We use a mixture of PHP and Go – experience in either is great, but a willingness to learn is even more important
- Basic familiarity with relational databases and SQL
- Some experience working with version control (Git) and comfort using the command line
- Curious, self‑motivated, and willing to learn – we don’t expect you to know everything
- Comfortable asking questions, collaborating with others, and explaining your thinking
- Some exposure to writing tests (unit or integration) is a bonus
- Interest in developer experience or internal tooling is a bonus
- Comfortable using AI coding tools (e.g. Claude Code) to assist with development
Compensation & Benefits
Paid at the London Living Wage for the duration of the internship. Lunch allowance up to £12 per day through the company catering service, plus snacks and fruit available at any time. You’ll have access to £50 parking credits per month via JustPark, and the possibility of event tickets to venues such as the O2, depending on availability during the internship.
