About the role
This role exists to own and develop JustPark\'s data platform end-to-end, ensuring our pipelines, models, and analytics foundations are robust, scalable, and business-ready.
The Data Platform Lead serves as the senior technical expert who mentors the team and drives best-in-class data practices across the business.
Responsibilities
Run stand-ups, sprint ceremonies, and delivery rhythms, ensuring the team stays aligned and works effectively toward all our data initiatives.
Build, maintain, and evolve our Datastream + BigQuery + dbt data platform with high reliability and scalability.
Develop clean, well-tested data models that support analytics, experimentation, and operational use cases.
Become the subject-matter expert on JustPark\'s data and systems.
Build and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines for analytics and product use.
Integrate ML and data science outputs into production environments.
Mentor team members and web engineers on event instrumentation, naming standards, analytics quality, and best practices.
Collaborate with Product & Engineering to ensure analytics requirements are correctly built into features.
Provide guidance on designing data-friendly systems and maintaining data quality at the source.
Contribute to the long-term architectural vision of the data platform.
Ensure data reliability, governance, cost optimisation, and scalability.
Identify opportunities to integrate AI, automation, and modern data tooling.
Qualifications
Advanced ~8-10 years of hands-on data experience with dbt and BigQuery in production environments.
Strong SQL and proficiency in Python, or R.
Experience building and operating data platforms in e-commerce or fast-growing product companies.
Deep data modelling expertise with exceptional attention to detail.
An analytical and curious mindset, interested in the end result not just the process.
Ability to become an expert in the business and its data to solve problems proactively.
Experience working with BI tools or supporting analysts who rely on it.
Ability to mentor both data specialists and software engineers.
Commercial understanding: able to connect technical outputs to business value.
Ability to move fast while maintaining high data quality and platform stability.
Additional Technical Skills
Experience with CDC (Change Data Capture) pipelines and tooling.
Experience with data orchestration tools i.e. dbt Cloud, Airflow.
Knowledge of reverse ETL and event-driven architectures.
Exposure to AI, ML led tooling.
