Mediplacements are currently recruiting for an experienced Youth Offending Team (YOT) Worker to join a busy and supportive service in Northamptonshire. This role supports children and young people aged 10-18 who are involved with the Youth Justice system. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload, complete assessments, oversee court orders, and collaborate with partner agencies to reduce offending and promote positive outcomes.

Hours: 37 hours per week

Work Pattern: Hybrid (40% office-based)

Location: Northamptonshire (county-wide with out-of-county travel required)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of children (10-18) subject to Youth Justice involvement, including court orders, bail, and remand.
  • Complete AssetPlus assessments and produce clear, structured intervention and risk management plans.
  • Assess and respond to risk, safety, and wellbeing concerns in line with Youth Justice legislation and safeguarding procedures.
  • Travel across Northamptonshire as well as to out-of-county placements, including visits to children in care and custody.
  • Attend court to represent the Youth Offending Service, providing updates and professional reports.
  • Participate in Referral Order panels and multi-agency meetings, ensuring accurate and timely case information is shared.
  • Work collaboratively with agencies such as social care, police, education, probation and CAMHS.
  • Maintain high-quality case recording and ensure all work meets Youth Justice Board standards.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children and young people involved in offending or high-risk behaviour.
  • Strong understanding of Youth Justice legislation and frameworks.
  • Ability to complete structured assessments (including AssetPlus) and confidently manage risk and safeguarding concerns.
  • Confidence in attending court and presenting case information.
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout Northamptonshire and beyond.
  • Excellent communication, engagement, and report-writing skills.

Working Pattern: Hybrid working model with 40% of the week office-based. Travel is essential to meet the needs of children across the county and out-of-county placements.
