We have a vacancy for a dynamic and autonomous Occupational Therapist to join our OT HUB.
You will manage a caseload of residents with moving and handling, equipment and adaptation needs. Previous experience of working in an adult social care setting is desirable, but transferable skills and experience will be considered.
The role is full time and hybrid with 3 days based on site.
Applicants must be able to travel around the borough, either by car or public transport.
Locums are well supported with regular supervision and inclusion in team CPD activities.
Key Duties:
Enabling people to be safe, maximise their independence and support them to achieve their desired outcomes.
Carrying out strengths based comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments and making recommendations to prevent, reduce and delay the need for ongoing care.
Making recommendations for major and minor adaptations and prescribing assistive equipment.
Working closely with residents and their formal and informal carers to assess moving and handling needs and implement optimal moving and handling practices.
Working on the OT Duty desk, processing enquiries, screening incoming referrals & working proactively to address immediate Occupational Therapy needs.
Supporting and advising our Enabling Independence Officers (OT Level 3 & 4 Trusted Assessors).
Completing housing reports and void visits.
The successful candidate will have:
Degree or an equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy, registered with HCPC
Experience of Occupational Therapy (minimum 2 years) including major adaptations/DFG processes and complex moving and handling
Have up to date knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance in relation to working with and safeguarding vulnerable adults and children in social care.
