Our well-known client has a fantastic permanent Specialist Occupational Therapist vacancy based at home with nationwide travel as necessary, some overnight stays will be required. They are looking for experience in learning disabilities and neurodiversity to shape and deliver their new product offering. The client’s Head Office is near Southampton and the wider Assisted Living team is based across the UK.

Salary: £37,000 + expenses for travel/hotels. Working days: Monday–Friday.

Client Group: Learning Difficulties and Neurodiversity / Technologies. This client is a family-run, international business with a strong track record in the energy and metering sector. As they expand into the tech-enabled care market, they are developing innovative solutions designed to support individuals with learning disabilities and neurodiverse conditions in living independently.

Job Role

  • Provide clinical insight and guidance on the design and development of new and existing tech-enabled care products, including market research and user testing.
  • Create and implement an evaluation plan to review the technology and support future development.
  • Lead the evaluation of deployed technologies by collecting user feedback, case studies, and success stories, and provide evidence-based input to inform future development.
  • Support the design and development of services to ensure effective, person-centred delivery that meets the needs of individuals with learning disabilities and neurodiverse conditions.
  • Support prescribers to make informed decisions on suitability of customers used in field trials.
  • Collaborate with the business development team to enhance understanding of the health and social care landscape, including procurement processes, sector structure, and engagement strategies.
  • Support customer-facing activities such as events, product demonstrations, prescriber training, and service delivery.
  • Act as a strategic voice within the team, shaping direction and focus through clinical and sector expertise.
  • Liaise with relevant bodies in social and healthcare agencies and provide accurate reports on the service relevance and acceptance.
  • Create and support marketing materials and strategies.
  • Create engaging, informative marketing content including thought-leadership pieces, leaflets, posters, and other collateral.
  • Collate qualitative data on observation or user experience and create case studies for publication.
  • Provide regular reports to the program manager on feedback from health authorities and social services.
  • Internal satisfaction on level of information disseminated and the knowledge acquired by technical and support staff on issues affecting potential assisted living customers.

Requirements

  • Qualified Occupational Therapist with experience working in learning disability and/or neurodiversity support services.
  • Strong understanding of the health and social care sector, including commissioning and procurement processes.
  • Confident communicator, capable of contributing to both clinical product development and commercial strategy.
  • Comfortable working remotely, while maintaining close and consistent communication with a supportive, collaborative team.
  • Creative and proactive in developing content and resources to support marketing and service delivery efforts.
  • Passionate about improving the lives of individuals with additional needs through innovative, practical solutions.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years postgraduate experience working within the learning disability and neurodiversity conditions sector.
  • Experience of research and/or evaluation of interventions.
  • Knowledge of the health and social care sector.
  • An occupational therapy degree.
  • Ability to work alone and remotely but still play an active role within the team.
  • Ability to travel across the UK and stay overnight.
