Our client’s studio is set in scenic grounds in Horsham. They strive to offer a family feel where children and families feel at home and work with us as part of their team to achieve their goals. When they are not in a session you will find them in their slippers, trying out games in the therapy room, taking a walk or working on new projects.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for working within an environment supporting children and families to help them to live their life in the way that they want to live it using strengths based and affirming approaches., The team have post graduate training and experience in Ayres Sensory Integration, Sensory Attachment Intervention Lvl 1, DMM Attachment Model, Kelly Mahler’s Interoception programme, DIR Floortime, Therapeutic Listening programme, Quick shifts, Infant Sense Integration, Cognitive Orientation to Daily Occupational Performance (CO-OP), Learn Play Thrive approach (LPT) and more….

They are looking for an Occupational Therapist with training in similar areas and/or who can diversify the skills of the team to offer new opportunities to our families.

A typical working week:

  • Full time is 40 hours with a 30-minute protected lunch break each day. Days mostly start at 8.30am and finish between 3.30pm and 6pm with a variety of long and short days throughout the week.

  • Formal supervision every fortnight and informal supervision throughout the week.

  • Team Meeting – the team meets weekly to work on projects to develop new ideas and services for the families. Additional project time will be allocated to progress ideas and all therapists are involved in service development.

  • A mix of one-to-one sessions, paired sessions, groups, school observations, review meetings, parent workshops, joint sessions with SLT’s and physiotherapists, OT programmes, sensory diets, assessments, reports and parent coaching calls. There may also be opportunity to be based in one of the schools that we support providing integrated therapy provision. No more than 5 one to one therapy sessions per day

  • Driver

  • Valid Enhanced DBS (this will be organised by the company)

  • Competent use of Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook.

  • Neurodiversity affirming and responsive to the needs of all children, families and staff at Live & Love it. The same will be afforded to the candidate.

  • Qualified Occupational Therapist

  • Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration

The successful applicant will be ready to take on a leading role in developing and enhancing an area of practice, undertake regular assessments, hold a diverse clinical caseload, develop new after school clubs and group sessions, become involved in developing and presenting training workshops and provide supervision to junior staff

Essential criteria:

  • Training in Ayres Sensory Integration Training with a recognised provider (SIE or CLASI) is a must.

  • Able to administer and interpret the SIPT and/or EASI (as part of a wider assessment)

Desirable criteria:

  • Experience working with children with early developmental trauma

  • Experience working with children with ABI and/or TBI (we have some emerging referral for this caseload)

  • Experience providing supervision

  • Experience presenting training or workshops

  • Salary dependant on experience £33,706.00 – £43,806.00

  • Company Pension Scheme after 3 months

  • HCPC annual registration paid by the company after 6 months

  • A staff kitchen/dining area to take a breaks away from the office
