Our well-known client has a fantastic Senior Occupational Therapist vacancy in their Neurological Centre in Gloucester.

Location: Gloucester

Salary: up to £46,000

Hours: Full Time

Client Group: Neurological Centre (service for people with Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI))

The Centre delivers specialist 24-hour nursing and therapy services for people with complex long-term neurological conditions who require ongoing support and assistance to maximise functional ability. It specialises in slow stream rehabilitation where the emphasis is placed on maximising each individual's abilities, comfort and quality of life.

You will be key in demonstrating highly specialist expertise and specialist occupational therapy skills in areas such as occupational engagement, environmental adaptation, development and maintenance of skills needed for meaningful participation.

Job Role:

  • Communicating effectively with a range of clinicians, managers, directors, associate directors, people who access services, carers/supporters/family members, stakeholders and agencies
  • Providing compassionate and effective leadership to junior staff including support staff and assistants
  • Ensuring the delivery of occupational therapy student placements
  • Supporting the completion of appraisals/personal development plans with junior staff
  • To be responsible for the development and implementation of appropriate policies, protocols and care pathways

Requirements:

  • Occupational Therapy profession qualification
  • UK HCPC Registration
  • Extensive experience of applying occupational frames of reference and approaches
  • Demonstrates evidence of highly effective clinical reasoning skills
  • Highly specialist knowledge of relevant assessment and treatment models
  • Knowledge of how to work with neurodiverse individuals
