Locum Band 6 Medical & Surgical Occupational Therapist (OT) NW London
JustOT is currently recruiting for a Band 6 Medical/Surgical Occupational Therapist to join a busy team in North West London.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced OT with a background in acute medical and surgical settings who is looking for their next locum assignment.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing a varied caseload of medical and surgical inpatients, delivering high-quality, patient-centred occupational therapy to support recovery and safe discharge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for medical and surgical inpatients.
- Assess patients' functional abilities, mobility, transfers and activities of daily living.
- Develop and implement appropriate rehabilitation and treatment plans.
- Identify equipment and adaptations required to support safe discharge.
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate effective discharge planning.
- Provide advice and support to patients, families and carers.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to ongoing patient care.
Requirements
- HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- Previous NHS experience within acute medical and/or surgical settings.
- Strong assessment, rehabilitation and discharge-planning skills.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
