Homecare Assistant/ Care Assistant in Horbury, Wakefield. This role supports clients with complex care needs, including dementia, providing person-centred care in domiciliary settings.

Shift Patterns

  • Variable shift patterns including: 07:00‑19:00 day calls, 19:00‑07:00 night calls, and 22:00‑08:00 waking night calls.

Responsibilities

  • Support all aspects of the care role as part of the team
  • Assist with mobility and help service users move around
  • Provide personal care such as undressing, bathing, dressing, toileting, and pad changes
  • Assist with meals
  • Interact with service users in a compassionate and empathetic manner
  • Ensure comfort and safety, maintain a clean and organized environment
  • Use mechanical and non‑mechanical aids to assist residents when moving
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Keep accurate and detailed records of service users’ activities and update care plans accordingly

Qualifications

  • Hard working and honest
  • Valid care training certificate
  • Full valid driving licence (personal vehicle an advantage)
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a care setting
  • Current and valid enhanced DBS
  • Willing to be paid as a contractor under an umbrella company
  • Experience in customer service
