Homecare Assistant/ Care Assistant in Horbury, Wakefield. This role supports clients with complex care needs, including dementia, providing person-centred care in domiciliary settings.
Shift Patterns
- Variable shift patterns including: 07:00‑19:00 day calls, 19:00‑07:00 night calls, and 22:00‑08:00 waking night calls.
Responsibilities
- Support all aspects of the care role as part of the team
- Assist with mobility and help service users move around
- Provide personal care such as undressing, bathing, dressing, toileting, and pad changes
- Assist with meals
- Interact with service users in a compassionate and empathetic manner
- Ensure comfort and safety, maintain a clean and organized environment
- Use mechanical and non‑mechanical aids to assist residents when moving
- Maintain confidentiality
- Keep accurate and detailed records of service users’ activities and update care plans accordingly
Qualifications
- Hard working and honest
- Valid care training certificate
- Full valid driving licence (personal vehicle an advantage)
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a care setting
- Current and valid enhanced DBS
- Willing to be paid as a contractor under an umbrella company
- Experience in customer service
