Overview
Educational Support Specialist at Justice Resource Institute. Littleton Academy is a residential treatment setting for latency-aged students that specializes in trauma informed care. Littleton provides 24-hour comprehensive care including a school on site, a full clinical staff, nursing staff, and direct care staff.
Responsibilities
- YOU will support students and staff in the classrooms and residential milieu as needed.
- YOU will complete written reports including IEP progress reports, treatment reports and rounds.
- YOU will provide coverage for classes when teachers are out.
- YOU will support students 1:1 as needed.
- YOU will support students before school at breakfast, and on non-school days in the milieu, through providing student supervision, educational groups and educational field trips as appropriate for individuals/groups of students.
- YOU will support the Director of Education and Assistant Program Director with tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Bachelor\\\βs degree in education or related field.
- Special Education license preferred but not required.
- At least 1 year experience as a supervisor and administrator.
- At least 3 years of experience working in Special Education with young adults with emotional disabilities.
- Candidates with experience working with adolescents in an alternative school setting or treatment program are preferred.
- Maintain a valid driver\\\βs license.
- At JRI, you will learn to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our students!
- Background and driving record checks will be performed.
