The Role
We’re recruiting for an Operations Manager here at Justice Digital, to be part of our warm and collaborative Digital Infrastructure & Security Operations (DISO) team. This role aligns against Senior IT Service Manager from the Government Digital and Data Framework.
The Network Operations Manager works alongside the Senior Operations Managers and is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the organisation’s network infrastructure ensuring it is reliable, secure and efficient. This role involves leading a team of engineers, monitoring network performance, resolving issues and implementing strategies to improve service delivery and meet business goals.
This role at MoJ is a crucial role in day-to-day network operations, and straddles maintaining Live Network Services with longer term relationship building and improvement activities. This role acts as an important link between the strategic aims of senior managers with the detail required for day-to-day achievement of performance targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performance monitoring: Oversee network performance, ensuring issues and incidents are addressed promptly and efficiently and resolved to SLA.
- Issue resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve operational challenges to maintain network uptime and efficiency.
- Data Analysis: Analyse performance data to identify trends, address challenges and drive improvements.
- Strategic implementation: Work with senior managers to implement new strategies that enhance service delivery and achieve business objectives.
- Security and Compliance: Enforce and support security procedures to protect the network infrastructure.
- Review of service requests and quotes from our suppliers and ensuring they are offering value for money and meet our requirements.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with internal and third-party suppliers attending Performance Service Reviews representing network operations.
- Team management: Line management of staff to ensure high-quality operational support is provided.
- CMDB Management - maintain an accurate inventory of all network assets and their relationships.
- Problem Analysis - perform root cause analysis on recurring network issues and implement permanent solutions.
- Major Incident Review participate in MIR’s to assist with investigating root cause and lessons learnt.
You will be involved in Operational Delivery initiatives to ensure network operations is represented and the support model is fit for purpose. As a key representative of the Networks Operations team, you will act as a central point of oversight and coordination for all activities that ensure the network runs efficiently, securely and reliably.
