Justteachers is pleased to be supporting one of our valued partner schools in Downham Market in their search for a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher. This is a full-time position with an immediate start, offered on a one-year contract. The school provides a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where pupils are encouraged to develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning. You will be joining a supportive and collaborative team that values high-quality teaching and pupil wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 national curriculum
  • Prepare pupils for end of Key Stage 1 assessments (SATs)
  • Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress effectively
  • Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Differentiating learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with additional needs
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents
  • Provide constructive feedback to support pupil development
  • Uphold and follow the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures

Pre-requisites

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally within Year 2
  • A strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and assessment requirements
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A positive, proactive, and flexible approach to teaching
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
  • Two education-based references from within the last two years
