About the role: Justteachers is looking for a dedicated and adaptable Humanities Teacher to join a unique alternative provision near Wisbech, supporting students who face barriers to mainstream education. This full-time role is available for a September start, with interviews and shortlisting currently underway. Initially, the position will be on a supply basis, with the potential for a permanent contract for the right candidate. The school provides a supportive and personalised learning environment for students with complex needs, including social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties, autism, and additional learning challenges. With a focus on re‑engagement, life skills, and tailored academic support, the school helps students develop resilience, confidence, and the tools they need for future success. Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Supporting students in developing confidence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours.
  • Implementing strategies to manage behaviour and emotional regulation effectively.
  • Differentiating lessons to ensure accessibility for students with a range of abilities.
  • Working closely with support staff, therapists, and external agencies to provide holistic support.
  • Monitoring student progress and adapting teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Encouraging students to develop essential life skills alongside academic achievements.

Pre‑requisites:

  • QTS with experience in SEN or alternative provision.
  • Equivalent Teaching Qualification such as QTLS or a strong subject‑based Degree with prior experience in SEN or alternative provision.
  • A strong understanding of SEMH needs, autism, and additional learning difficulties.
  • A compassionate, flexible, and patient approach to working with vulnerable students.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire disengaged learners.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external professionals.
  • Two recent education or school‑based references.
