We are recruiting for a full-time Humanities Teacher in Wakefield to start from September 2026. This is a temporary long-term supply position until Easter 2027. The role involves teaching Humanities across Key Stages 3 and 4, ideally including both Geography and History to GCSE level. The secondary school is known for its strong leadership, supportive department and commitment to academic excellence and pupil progress.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Humanities lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Teach both Geography and History to GCSE level (desirable)
- Prepare students for GCSE examinations and assessments
- Differentiating lessons to support a range of abilities
- Monitor and track pupil progress in line with school policies
Pre-requisites:
- Relevant teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS or equivalent)
- Proven experience of teaching Geography and/or History to GCSE level
- Strong knowledge of the Humanities curriculum and GCSE assessment requirements
- Two education or school-based references
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
