About the role: Justteachers is seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges within a primary school in Nuneaton. The school provides a happy, safe and caring environment for all pupils. It holds a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating, with ‘Outstanding’ recognition for personal development. Staff work closely with families to keep them informed about their child’s progress, and parent feedback is consistently positive, reflecting pride in being part of a close‑knit school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Track and record pupils’ progress, behaviour and key observations to support ongoing assessment.
- Use de‑escalation and positive behaviour strategies to maintain a calm, supportive environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO and external professionals to meet pupils’ needs effectively.
Pre-requisites:
- A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience in an educational or care setting.
- Experience working 1:1 with children with additional needs.
- Two professional references from an educational or care background.
