About the role:

We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive school in Swaffham who are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September.

The successful candidate will deliver tailored learning experiences that meet individual needs, promote independence, and create an engaging and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive.

This role would suit an experienced SEN Teacher or a teacher with a strong interest in special educational needs who is looking to further develop their skills within a collaborative and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students with special educational needs
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes confidence and achievement
  • Adapt teaching strategies and resources to support a range of learning needs and abilities
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing regular feedback and support
  • Develop and implement individual learning plans where appropriate
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff to maximise student outcomes
  • Foster students' social, emotional, and academic development
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, attendance, and engagement
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, carers, and external agencies
  • Contribute to wider school initiatives and the development of SEN provision
  • Participate in school meetings, training, and professional development opportunities
  • Promote safeguarding and student welfare at all times
  • Uphold the school’s values and commitment to inclusive education

Pre-requisites:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs
  • A strong understanding of SEN strategies and inclusive teaching practices
  • The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet diverse learning needs
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching and learning
  • A commitment to raising standards and supporting positive outcomes for all students
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
  • Two recent education-based references
