About the role:
Justteachers is recruiting an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming specialist school in Stratford-upon-Avon. The successful candidate will support pupils aged 11β19 with a range of complex learning needs and disabilities, helping them to achieve both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to pupils with special educational needs both in and outside the classroom.
- Support the delivery of personalised learning programmes and intervention activities.
- Encourage pupil participation, engagement, and confidence in learning.
- Assist with communication strategies, sensory support, and emotional wellbeing programmes.
- Work alongside teachers and support staff to create an inclusive and positive learning environment.
- Support behaviour management and de-escalation strategies where appropriate.
- Contribute to assessments, observations, and progress tracking.
Pre-requisites:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN in an educational, care, or support setting.
- Knowledge of Autism, Complex Needs, Physical Disabilities, or SEMH is advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- A proactive, flexible, and positive approach to supporting learners.
- Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and colleagues.
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
- Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to undertake one.
