A mainstream secondary school in Sheffield is seeking an experienced HLTA to join their brand-new Alternative Provision starting in September 2026 on a full-time temp to perm basis. This long-term supply opportunity will involve supporting students with SEMH and Autism across a newly developed provision catering for 150 students split across 10 smaller classes. This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding and forward-thinking school with a strong inclusive ethos, committed to creating a supportive environment where every student can thrive.
Responsibilities
- Support students with SEMH and Autism both inside and outside of the classroom
- Deliver targeted interventions and small group support sessions
- Build positive relationships with students to support engagement and behaviour
- Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to support individual learning plans
- Help maintain a calm, structured and nurturing learning environment
Qualifications
- Relevant HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
- Proven experience working with students with SEMH and Autism in a similar setting
- Strong knowledge of behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
- Two education or school-based references
- A resilient, patient and nurturing approach with the ability to build positive relationships quickly
