About the role:
Justteachers is pleased to be working in partnership with an inclusive secondary school in Sheffield to recruit an enthusiastic Religious Education Teacher, starting in September 2026. This is a full-time, long-term position offering excellent stability, with the potential to become a permanent role for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and accessible RE lessons that meet the needs of learners of all abilities.
- Teach Religious Education across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities to teach KS5 where appropriate.
- Promote students’ Spiritual, Moral, Social, and Cultural development through a thoughtful and inclusive curriculum.
- Establish a positive, respectful classroom environment that encourages open and meaningful discussion.
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing clear feedback in line with school policies.
- Contribute to curriculum development, departmental improvement, and wider school initiatives.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and academic progress.
- Participate in ongoing CPD and support extracurricular or enrichment activities within RE or the humanities.
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent UK-recognised teaching qualification.
- A degree in Religious Education, Theology, Philosophy, or a related subject.
- Experience teaching RE within a UK secondary school setting.
- Strong understanding of the national RE curriculum and its delivery in diverse classrooms.
- Confident communication skills and effective classroom management.
- A clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of young people.
- A collaborative mindset and genuine enthusiasm for continued professional development.
