Justteachers are seeking a dedicated and confident Cover Supervisor(s) to join a dynamic secondary school in Sheffield from September 2026. This position has both full-time and part-time offers. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with students across a range of year groups and subjects, providing essential support in the absence of teaching staff. For the right candidate, there is potential for the role to become permanent.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences. You’ll be expected to manage classroom behaviour, deliver pre-set work, and ensure students remain engaged and focused. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates considering a career in teaching, experienced support staff looking for progression, or individuals with a passion for education.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans in the absence of the class teacher
- Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a positive learning environment
- Support students with their learning and encourage engagement
- Liaise with teaching staff and report on student progress
- Uphold school policies and procedures at all times
- Minimum of GCSEs (including English and Maths); A-Levels or degree desirable
- Previous experience working with young people (e.g. in schools, youth work, tutoring)
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to build rapport with students and staff
- A genuine interest in education and student development
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
