About the role:
A secondary school in Sheffield is seeking a dedicated Business Studies Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term supply basis from September 2026. This opportunity is ideal for a passionate Business specialist who enjoys inspiring students and developing their understanding of the dynamic world of business at Key Stage 4 & 5.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging Business Studies lessons in line with the curriculum across KS4 & KS5
- Plan and deliver stimulating lessons that develop students’ knowledge of business concepts, theories, and real-world commercial practices
- Support students in preparing for assessments and examinations, helping them achieve their full academic potential
- Create a positive, inclusive learning environment, providing differentiated support for learners of all abilities, including those with SEND and EAL
- Encourage critical thinking, analytical skills, and independent learning through the use of current business case studies and industry examples
- Monitor, assess, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement and progression
- Contribute to the wider school community through enrichment activities, enterprise initiatives, and careers-related learning opportunities
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, organisation, and effective classroom management
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent UK-recognised teaching qualification
- A degree in Business, Business Management, Economics, or a closely related subject
- Recent experience teaching Business Studies in a UK secondary school or sixth form setting, ideally at A-Level
- Strong subject knowledge and an understanding of current business practices, economic influences, and examination requirements
- Confident classroom management, excellent organisational skills, and a positive, supportive approach to teaching
