About the role: We are looking for a dedicated, patient and proactive SEND Specialist to join a supportive setting near Gainsborough. This role focuses on providing tailored support to children and young people with a range of SEND, ensuring they can access learning, build confidence and develop essential social and emotional skills. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised support to students with diverse SEND needs, helping them engage positively with learning and daily routines.
  • Work alongside teaching staff to adapt activities, break tasks down and offer targeted, practical support to promote understanding and independence.
  • Use calm, consistent and trauma‑informed approaches to support emotional regulation, wellbeing and confidence.
  • Support the implementation of personalised learning plans, EHCP targets and classroom strategies.
  • Contribute to a safe, structured and encouraging environment where students feel understood and valued.

Pre-requisites:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (school, alternative provision, residential or community settings).
  • Understanding of needs such as ASD, SEMH, learning difficulties or communication differences.
  • A calm, confident and empathetic approach, with the ability to remain patient and consistent.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to take direction while also showing initiative.
  • Relevant experience or qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Youth Work, or equivalent).
