We are recruiting for a dedicated SEND Specialist to join a supportive and inclusive school in Boston, working with children and young people with a range of SEND. The setting provides tailored support to help pupils thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, with a strong emphasis on personalised learning, structure, and positive relationships.
This position is available to start ASAP, with full-time hours 5 days a week.
Key responsibilities- Provide targeted, individualised support to pupils with SEND to help them access the curriculum and engage positively in learning.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to adapt lessons, scaffold tasks, and implement differentiated learning strategies.
- Support pupils with communication, independence, emotional regulation, and confidence within the classroom and wider school environment.
- Use a range of strategies such as visual supports, structured routines, clear modelling, and hands‑on activities to promote understanding and engagement.
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to reviews, ensuring support remains aligned with individual needs and EHCP targets.
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND in schools, specialist provisions, care, tutoring, or related settings.
- A strong understanding of a range of additional needs, such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties.
- Confidence adapting learning approaches and providing tailored support to meet individual pupil needs.
- Relevant qualifications such as Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, Childcare, Health and Social Care, or equivalent practical experience.
