Justteachers is looking to appoint an SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a caring and resilient school community in the York area on a long‑term, temp‑to‑perm pathway. This full‑time role begins in September, and the school is currently reviewing applications. Key Responsibilities:

  • Encouraging pupils with SEMH needs to participate positively in lessons and daily routines

  • Collaborating with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals to enhance pupil wellbeing

Pre‑requisites:

  • Qualifications related to education, childcare, youth work or support work
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs
  • Strong understanding of behaviour support, de‑escalation and emotional regulation approaches
  • Two education or school‑based references
