Justteachers are working with a Bradford based Secondary School to appoint for a SEMH Support Assistant to work with their Nurture Group. This role is to start as soon as possible on a full-time basis and will run until the end of the academic year.
Key responsibilities
- Provide a structured and supportive environment to foster security and emotional regulation
- Support students in managing anxiety or negative thoughts
- Have restorative conversations to repair relationships and understand the impact of actions
- Provide emotional coaching to model identification and regulation of feelings
- Teach emotional awareness and regulation strategies
- Enforce trauma informed practice
Requirements
- Experience supporting students or young adults with SEMH
- A calm, patient, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for education and child development
- Excellent behaviour management skills
- Two school, education or SEMH based references
