Justteachers are working with a Bradford based Secondary School to appoint for a SEMH Support Assistant to work with their Nurture Group. This role is to start as soon as possible on a full-time basis and will run until the end of the academic year.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide a structured and supportive environment to foster security and emotional regulation
  • Support students in managing anxiety or negative thoughts
  • Have restorative conversations to repair relationships and understand the impact of actions
  • Provide emotional coaching to model identification and regulation of feelings
  • Teach emotional awareness and regulation strategies
  • Enforce trauma informed practice

Requirements

  • Experience supporting students or young adults with SEMH
  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for education and child development
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • Two school, education or SEMH based references
