About the role:
Justteachers is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Rugby from September 2026. This is a full-time role supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to access learning and achieve their individual targets.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
- Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs and behaviour support plans.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation using school-approved approaches.
- Support pupils with personal development, social skills, communication, and independence.
- Adapt learning resources and activities to meet individual needs.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, parents, and external professionals.
- Record and monitor pupil progress, engagement, and wellbeing.
Pre-requisites:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
- Understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or other additional learning needs.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
