About the role
Justteachers is currently recruiting for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist behavioural school in Rugby. This full-time position is set to begin in September 2026 and will continue for the full academic year. The school caters to pupils aged 11 to 19 with behavioural challenges and additional needs, such as SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health), ADHD, ASD, and other associated difficulties. The team is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment where students can thrive both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual behavioural and learning plans.
- Support students in managing their behaviour through consistent routines and de-escalation techniques.
- Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and pastoral teams to provide holistic support.
- Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and emotional regulation.
- Assist with personal care and ensure a safe and respectful environment for all students.
Pre-requisites
- A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience.
- Experience supporting children with behavioural needs or within a care-focused setting is highly desirable.
- Ability to remain calm, consistent, and resilient in a challenging environment.
- Two professional references from an educational or care-based role.
