About the role:
Justteachers are recruiting for a dedicated Post-16 SEN Teacher to work within a specialist SEN provision in Rugby from September 2026. This full-time role offers flexibility for part-time candidates where suitable. The position is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about preparing young people with additional needs for adulthood, independence, and future employment opportunities.
The school supports students with a range of complex needs and focuses heavily on life skills, employability, and personalised learning pathways.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Post-16 lessons tailored to individual needs
- Support students in developing independence, communication, and employability skills
- Prepare learners for further education, training, or work placements
- Work closely with support staff, families, and external professionals
- Monitor and report on student progress and outcomes
- Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience working with Post-16 learners and/or SEN students
- Understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning programmes
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire young adults with additional needs
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
