About the role
Justteachers are currently recruiting for a dedicated and adaptable SEN Cover Supervisor to work within a KS3 SEN school. This rewarding role involves supporting students with additional needs by supervising classes and providing continuity of learning across the school when teachers are absent. The successful candidate will be confident managing behaviour, building positive relationships, and supporting students in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support KS3 students during teacher absences
- Deliver pre-set work across a range of subjects
- Support pupils with special educational needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress and engagement
- Support learning both in and outside the classroom where required
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
Pre-requisites
- Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within SEN settings
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- Ability to adapt quickly and work across different classes and departments
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
