About the role: Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs? A welcoming SEN school in Rugby is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support KS3 learners on a long-term basis starting in June 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a KS3 student with SEN, adapting learning activities to meet individual needs
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
- Support the student’s emotional regulation and social development
- Help implement and monitor EHCP targets
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Liaise with teaching staff, SENCO, and external professionals where required
Pre-requisites:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH)
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
