About the role: justteachers is currently recruiting a versatile and committed SEN General Cover Teacher to work in a specialist SEN school in Rugby. This role is starting ASAP and offers an excellent opportunity to work across a range of subjects and year groups in a supportive environment. You will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons and maintaining continuity of learning for pupils with a variety of additional needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-set lessons across a range of subjects and key stages
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse SEN needs, including autism and SEMH
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Support pupils’ engagement, wellbeing, and progress
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and SEN staff
  • Provide feedback to permanent teaching staff on pupil progress

Pre-requisites

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching experience
  • Experience working with SEN pupils or in alternative provisions
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Flexible and adaptable teaching style
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
