About the role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in the Rotherham area from September 2026. This is a full-time, long-term supply position with an initial temporary contract and the opportunity to secure a permanent position after a successful three-month period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student progress and achievement.
- Assess, monitor and record student attainment in line with school policies.
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all learners, including those requiring additional support.
- Contribute positively to the wider school community and departmental development.
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Degree in Science or a related subject.
- Proven experience of teaching Science within a secondary school setting.
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and Science specifications at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Ability to plan, deliver and assess high-quality lessons that inspire student engagement and achievement.
- Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
- Two education or school-based references.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Strong communication, organisational and teamwork skills.
