About the role:
Justteachers are seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEND teaching Assistant to join a modern SEND school in Rochdale on a full-time, long-term basis starting in September. This specialist provision supports pupils aged 4 to 16 with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The role is a long-term temporary position beginning in September, offering the opportunity to make a positive and lasting impact from the outset.
Maintain clear, regular, and effective communication with parents and carers regarding each pupil’s progress, development, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored support to students with additional needs within a dedicated provision setting.
- Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and effective behaviour strategies.
- Drive a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate closely with teachers and the SENCO to provide targeted interventions.
- Offer consistent support for students’ social, emotional, and sensory needs throughout the school day.
Pre-requisites:
- Demonstrated experience supporting children in SEND or targeted intervention roles.
- In-depth knowledge of SEND strategies and commitment to inclusive education.
- Ability to maintain a calm, consistent, and positive approach to learning and behaviour.
- Two or more recent, education based references within the last 2 years.
