About the role: We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Team Leader to join our Children’s Residential Home ASAP. This is a key role supporting the management team in delivering high-quality care while guiding and supporting staff on shift. As a Team Leader, you will work directly with children and young people, helping to create a safe, stable, and nurturing environment while ensuring routines, care plans, and expectations are followed consistently. You will lead by example, supporting both the children and the wider staff team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead shifts effectively, ensuring the home runs smoothly and safely at all times.
- Provide direct care and emotional support to children and young people, promoting positive relationships and outcomes.
- Support staff on shift, offering guidance, supervision, and encouragement.
- Ensure children’s care plans, risk assessments, and daily records are followed and completed accurately.
- Promote positive behaviour, structure, and consistency through clear boundaries and supportive approaches.
- Act as a safeguarding lead on shift, responding appropriately to concerns or incidents.
- Support the induction and development of new staff members.
- Liaise with senior staff, social workers, and professionals as required.
Pre-requisites:
- Must hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- A full driving licence is strongly desirable.
- Experience working within a children’s residential care setting.
- Confidence leading a team and managing shifts in a busy environment.
- A calm, organised, and child-focused approach with a strong commitment to safeguarding and high standards of care.
