About the role:
A residential care setting attached to a specialist school near Gainsborough, supporting young people with high levels of Autism needs. The provision focuses on creating a safe, structured, and nurturing home environment where students can develop emotional regulation, independence, and life skills. Staff work closely as part of a team to provide consistent care, build trusting relationships, and support young people both within the residence and alongside their education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide calm, consistent support to young people, helping them manage emotions and develop positive behaviours in a residential setting
- Support daily routines such as mornings, evenings, meals, and independent living skills
- Build strong, trusting relationships to promote stability, confidence, and wellbeing
- Use de-escalation and behaviour support strategies to manage challenging situations and encourage positive outcomes
Pre-requisites:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND needs in residential care, education, youth work, or similar settings
- Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies, with the ability to remain calm and consistent under pressure
- Confidence in building positive relationships and acting as a reliable, supportive adult role model
- Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care, Residential Childcare, Care Work, or equivalent hands-on experience
