We are seeking a committed and experienced Deputy Manager to support the day-to-day running of a Children’s Residential Home ASAP. This is a key leadership role, working closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the home provides a safe, nurturing, and well-structured environment where children and young people can thrive.
The Deputy Manager will play a vital role in both direct care and administrative leadership, supporting staff, promoting positive outcomes for children, and helping to maintain high standards of care in line with regulations and best practice.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Registered Manager in the effective day-to-day management of the home.
- Act as a positive role model, delivering high-quality, child-centred care and support.
- Ensure children’s emotional, physical, and behavioural needs are met consistently.
- Supervise, mentor, and support staff to maintain a motivated and skilled team.
- Assist with care planning, risk assessments, incident reporting, and record keeping to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Promote safeguarding and ensure all policies and procedures are followed at all times.
- Support rota management, staff cover, and smooth running of shifts across a 7-day service.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, social workers, and external professionals.
- Must hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- A full driving licence is strongly desirable.
- Experience working within a children’s residential care setting.
- Strong organisational and communication skills with confidence in handling administrative duties.
