Justteachers is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant specialist school in the Preston area to cover on a short-term basis. The full-time post is due to start in April 2026; however, immediate start dates may also be available, with shortlisting currently taking place.
This specialist school is dedicated to providing an inclusive and nurturing environment for children aged 2 to 11 with severe learning difficulties, profound complex learning difficulties, and medical needs. Their purpose is ensuring that every student receives the support they need to thrive academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:- Supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in their learning and development.
- Providing 1:1 and group support to students with SEND, ensuring an inclusive learning environment.
- Assisting the class teacher in implementing tailored education plans.
- Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment to help students achieve their potential.
- Relevant qualifications in education or SEND support.
- Proven experience supporting students with SEND.
- Strong knowledge of behaviour management strategies and inclusive teaching approaches.
