Justteachers is seeking a PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant specialist school in the Preston area to cover on a long-term basis. The full-time post is due to start in May 2026, with shortlisting currently taking place. Key Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) in both classroom and sensory settings
- Assisting with personal care, mobility, and feeding needs in a respectful and dignified manner
- Collaborating with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored learning and therapeutic interventions
Pre-requisites
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Health & Social Care, or equivalent)
- Proven experience supporting children or young people with complex needs or PMLD
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, communication strategies (e.g., PECS, Makaton), and sensory-based learning
- Two education or school-based references
