About the role:
Justteachers is seeking a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant specialist school in the Preston area on a long-term basis.
The full-time post is due to start in September 2026, with shortlisting currently taking place.
The school offers a highly nurturing and inclusive environment, supporting pupils with complex learning, communication, medical and physical needs. Staff work closely as a team to ensure every learner is supported to engage, develop independence and achieve meaningful progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with complex and multiple needs
- Assisting with personal care, sensory activities and communication support where required
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff to implement individual education and care plans
Pre-requisites:
- Relevant qualifications or experience supporting pupils with complex needs
- Proven experience working in a SEND or specialist educational setting
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, personal care, sensory learning and communication strategies
- Two education or school-based references
