About the role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 3 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in the Pontefract area from September 2026.
This is a full-time, long-term supply position with an initial temporary contract and the opportunity to secure a permanent role following a successful three-month period.
The school welcomes applications from both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers and provides a supportive leadership team, excellent professional development opportunities and a positive working environment.

Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Assess, monitor and record pupil attainment, using data to inform future planning.
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those requiring additional support.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and carers to support pupils’ academic and personal development.
- Pre-requisites
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Proven experience of teaching within a primary school setting.
- Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum, particularly Year 3 expectations.
- Ability to plan, deliver and assess high‑quality lessons that engage and inspire learners.
- Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
- Two education or school‑based references.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Suitable for both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers.
