About the role
Justteachers are currently recruiting for a Science teacher to work within one of our partner secondary schools based in Peterborough starting from September 2026. The role is a full-time teaching position on a supply basis with the view to go permanent after an initial probationary period. This larger than average rural academy provides a comprehensive curriculum placing importance not only on the main academic performance but equally offering excellent vocational and technical studies to help create well rounded students.
Key Responsibilities
- To teach challenging and enjoyable lessons across all key stages (KS3-4)
- To work collaboratively within a vibrant department, confidently sharing new ideas during staff meetings
- Set goals that stretch and challenge pupils of all backgrounds, abilities, and dispositions.
- Be aware of pupils’ capabilities and their prior knowledge, and plan teaching to build on these
- Encourage pupils to take a responsible and conscientious attitude to their own work and study
Pre-requisites
- Has Qualified Teacher Status and a good educational background including a good Honours Degree or equivalent.
- Can evidence both curricular and pastoral responsibilities.
- Understands and is committed to teaching standards.
- Has high personal standards in terms of attendance, punctuality and organising workload.
- Is an excellent communicator with great interpersonal skills.
