About the role:
A welcoming school near Peterborough are seeking a confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support teaching and learning across the setting. The school prioritises inclusive education, high-quality learning experiences, and supporting pupils to reach their full potential academically and socially. This role is full-time to start in September.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver planned lessons and learning activities in the absence of the teacher, ensuring continuity of learning.
- Support the planning and delivery of differentiated lessons alongside teaching staff to meet varying pupil needs.
- Use structured teaching strategies - including modelling, questioning, and scaffolding - to support pupil progress.
- Provide feedback on pupil progress and support behaviour management through consistent expectations and positive reinforcement.
Pre-requisites:
- Experience working in a school setting, including leading learning or covering lessons.
- Strong understanding of the curriculum and how to adapt teaching to support different learners.
- Confidence managing groups of pupils independently and maintaining engagement.
- HLTA status or relevant qualifications such as Level 4 Teaching Assistant or equivalent experience.
