About the role:
We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive Primary school, who are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SRB Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term supply basis starting in September.
This role will involve supporting a small group of 5 Key Stage 2 pupils with EHCPs and additional special educational needs within a mainstream Primary school setting. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing tailored learning support, helping pupils to achieve both academically and personally within a nurturing and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils
- Support Key Stage 2 pupils with EHCPs and a range of additional learning needs
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Adapt teaching strategies and resources to meet pupils’ individual needs and learning styles
- Work closely with support staff, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals where required
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, contributing towards EHCP targets and reviews
- Manage behaviour positively and consistently in line with the school’s policies
- Build strong and trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and communication development
- Maintain accurate records, planning, and assessment documentation
- Contribute positively to the wider school community
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Previous experience working within SEN or inclusive educational settings is desirable
- Experience supporting pupils with EHCPs and additional learning needs
- A strong understanding of differentiated learning and inclusive teaching practices
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to teaching
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to build positive and supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs to achieve their full potential
- Two recent education-based references
