About the role: Justteachers are working closely with a caring and inclusive school in Norwich, who are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term supply basis, starting ASAP. This school is committed to supporting pupils with additional needs through a calm, structured, and personalised approach. Staff work closely with the SENCo and wider support team to ensure pupils receive consistent guidance, encouragement, and opportunities to succeed both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with SEND either on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum through adapted tasks and resources
  • Implement support strategies outlined in EHCPs and individual learning plans
  • Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social interaction
  • Support pupils during lessons, transitions, and structured activities

Pre-requisites:

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND in a school or similar setting
  • A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach
  • Confidence working with pupils with a range of needs (e.g. ASD, SEMH, learning difficulties)
  • The ability to follow guidance while working independently when required
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Two recent references
