The successful candidate will deliver engaging and thought‑provoking History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students to develop curiosity, critical thinking, and a strong understanding of the past. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver History lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Create an inclusive classroom environment that supports progress for all learners
- Differentiated teaching to meet a range of abilities
- Assess and track student progress in line with school policies
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Humanities team
- Contribute to wider school life where appropriate
- Ensure a safe and organised learning environment
Pre‑requisites
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching History within a secondary school setting
- Strong behaviour management and organisational skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire students of varying abilities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive, reflective, and adaptable approach
- Two recent, relevant references
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
