About the role:
We are delighted to be recruiting for an enthusiastic and committed Year 5 Class Teacher to join a welcoming and thriving primary academy in the Kettering area on a permanent, full-time basis. The position is due to commence in September 2026, with shortlisting currently underway.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, purposeful lessons in accordance with the National Curriculum, including English, Maths, Science, History and other foundation subjects.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all pupils feel valued, supported and motivated to learn.
- Assess, monitor and record pupils’ progress through a range of formal and informal assessment methods.
- Use assessment information effectively to identify individual learning needs and adapt teaching accordingly.
- Support pupils’ social, emotional and personal development, encouraging confidence, independence and resilience.
- Identify and appropriately respond to SEND and safeguarding concerns, following school policies and procedures.
- Promote positive behaviour and foster a classroom culture based on respect, kindness and high expectations.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to the wider school community.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with parents and carers regarding pupils’ progress, achievements and behaviour.
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- PGCE or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching within a primary classroom.
- A strong understanding of the Primary National Curriculum, particularly at Key Stage 2.
- The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet a range of learning needs.
- Excellent communication, organisation and classroom-management skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Two suitable education or school-based references.
- An Enhanced DBS Check.
