About the role: Justteachers is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and proactive Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Primary School Specialist Resource Base (SRB) in Newmarket. This full‑time, long‑term role begins after May half term and involves providing 1:1 support for two children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), specifically Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). Your role will be central to ensuring each child feels safe, understood, and able to engage positively with school life.
Key Responsibilities:
- 1:1 SEN Support, provide tailored, consistent support to two pupils with ASC within the SRB
- Emotional Regulation Support, help pupils manage emotions, transitions, and sensory needs
- Positive Relationship Building, establish trust, routine, and clear boundaries
- Collaborative Working, work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to implement personalised strategies
Pre-requisites:
- Experience working with children, ideally within a school or SEN setting
- Previous SEMH, SEN, or behaviour support experience is desirable
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships and respond proactively to challenging situations
- Two recent, relevant references
